I love the 1 in 12, it's run by and financed by a committee consisting of its members/regulars at the club. It's very DIY/anarchist/punk and the atmosphere is ace. Veggie and vegan food is served in the cafe upstairs. I just feel comfortable when I'm there, no body's judging me, the people are like-minded, there's always literature and books available regarding issues such as the prison system, capitalism, animal rights etc.
Limp Wrist were awesome, they literally just fill you up with so much energy. They're amusing! War All The Time were the main support, they reminded me of Fugazi in some parts, really droney bass. Girl drummer, girl on vocals, well she sorta talked? Thrash. Anti-war. Good. (The flyer, it won't upload?)
Fun night, saw a couple familiar faces. Arranged to have some vegan animal rights literature to put down on a table at my gig on 27th, along with PAPYRUS stuff. Got a couple zines, one being the McLibel case (which actually ended on this date today in 97! I thought that was a weird coincidence?) I got a Limp Wrist t-shirt and a badge, so basically I spent money that would have been better off in the bank...
Dave's friends from Newcastle were at the gig and were staying at his house, so there was 5 in the car on the way back, I love listening to people chat. Stopped for a curry at Sheesh Mahal on Kirkstall Road, just as they were locking the door! The owner guy said he saw my eyes when we got to the door and would like to tell me it was not personal ha ha. I must have given him the stink eye. Got a spinach and chickpea curry, pilau rice and chapati! And some spicy lentil wrap thing which I've never had before. Tasty. Then straight to bed. ZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzz. x.
